I love these! Art should reflect real life, and as a society we are so quick to think fat is ugly, but these works show just the opposite. I love it because their bodies are not that of a Victoria's Secret model, but in most of these works of art, their faces look so beautiful and happy. I love the girl dancing in her underwear. It shows confidence, happiness, self-love and self-worth, regardless of her size.
Let us also not forget that this stick-figure image we are so accustomed to linking to "beauty" in this century has not always been the case. Ancient Romans linked a full figure with health and fertility, which was desirable in a woman. The Renaissance portrayed voluptuous women as angelic, and advertisements in the 1950's told women to PUT ON weight in order to be seen as glamorous and beautiful.
