I have recently published a kid's book on Amazon. It was an interesting ride putting it together. However, lately I have been entertaining the idea of creating a coloring book to go with the character. Has anyone taken this task up yet?

That sounds amazing and awesome!! You should go for it!!

I have considered childrens books but I have to admit that I have never considered colouring books. That sounds like a really fantastic idea, and it's sure to help your book sell more! :D

I am in the process of putting together a coloring book aimed at adults (or teens, even). I've had several people request that I do so with some of my tangled designs so I figured why not? I plan on using CreateSpace or a similar print-on-demand service and posting the book(s) on the Kindle Marketplace. I'm also planning a drawing template book for those who like to do Zentangle.

Nice! Don't forget to pick a nice paper, and make it matte. You can't colour on gloss paper ;).

That's a good idea and congratulations on your book! I would do a colouring in book but I cant draw and it would not be an exciting one at all. I do find that the images you choose must be colourful and happy as some of the colouring in books have such insignificant art in it that kids cant relate.

That's great and really exciting to do! Congratulations! In my case, I would like to make coloring book not for sale but as an exclusive item for my kids (to be). I love personalized item so in the future I would make one like that. I think in making coloring books it is important to think of the age (of the kid), the type of paper, and the characters to include. If would make one someday, I would consider those things the most.

Grats on the book! I've thought about coloring books. I think they would be fun. I keep seeing those adult coloring books all over the place. Pages and pages of doodles to color in basically. I don't know if I would be any good at kids coloring books but I'm thinking about taking a crack at the adult versions.

I've always enjoyed coloring books. I've seen the adult coloring books, but some of them are kind of boring. Why do people think that just because you grow up you have to want to color like flowers or patterns. If that's what you like that's fine, but why aren't there more adult coloring books that have people or pictures? I loved my Dover coloring book that had pictures from Mucha. I've never really found another like it. Now Dover does mostly History coloring books and they are good. But Dover's about the only one I really like.
