So I recently inherited my stepfathers cell because he's deployed to Korea. I now understand why he had it off unless absolutely necessary to have it on.

Someone, be it Maria, or April, Nicholas (or how ever it's spelt), is giving EVERYONE fake numbers and names. I'm getting calls from debt collectors, lawyers, family, friends, dentists, doctors, most with seemingly urgent importance to talk to this woman, and a host of others.

It's one thing to forget to change your number at your dentist, but when I call back to say the person isnt using the number anymore (and hasnt for at least a year, possibly 2 or more), and discover that she's only been at the dentist for 6 months....that's kinda worrying. Why would you sign up with a fake number?

Did you misread your new number or are you giving people an old/fake one for a reason? Could you least be a little less consistent in giving out wrong numbers so that no one person has to deal with your crap?

Her family called, and I felt angry and disgusted (at her) to have to tell them they were given the wrong number. That's a moral thing for me. I wouldnt do it except as an accident, but I've had a grandmother and someone younger call me claiming to be family. A GRANDMOTHER.

Her Lawyer was calling the phone non stop leaving messages, and seemed REALLY stressed and upset that the number was wrong when I called him back. I felt like I was a horrible horrible person telling him that. His upset made ME feel bad. No idea why he wanted to call her, but to call endlessly like that. He was the first number I called back, because I wanted the calls to stop.

Someone she met at a club called, and seemed disappointed she wasnt using the number, again, making me feel bad since they seemed pretty cool, and genuinely upset.

Her doctor called me 3 times. Once because she scheduled an...appointment, and twice because something came up in a blood test or something else she had done.

I had two sets of people wanting money, but they quit immediately when I told them it wasnt her number.

This morning I had some woman call for the 3rd time for "April Nicholas". She called me late into the night last night and I missed it.

I mean, if these calls were between 12pm and 8pm I would be fine, but they arent. I gotten them at 2am, 4am, 10am....etc...I get them at all times of the day and night and at least once every 2 days. I don't know where the calls are coming from state wise, but these people are calling multiple times. Regardless, the quantity of calls and lack of them slowing down tells me that this woman is actively giving out my number.

What can I do short of getting myself a new number? Should I tell EVERY person who calls that this woman is giving out my number and changing her name? Should I seek this woman out in the phone book? She could be a real person who's an identity theft victim and I may be able to help. Is there anything I can do?

And while I'm at it, Linda Taylor change your fucking numbers too, I'm tired of getting excited to hear my home phone ring to find a machine for you!!!
