So I just moved into my own place in January and last night was the first time I'd truly been freaked out and had to call for mummy and daddy. Keep in mind I've not lived with my parents for years....but I had no one else I could call at 4am lol.

I have a nice little 1 bedroom unit where the kitchen/dining/lounge (one room) connects to the bedroom (where a fuse box is) and the bedroom connects to the bathroom. Sometimes....fuel for stories comes from real life events....so here's what happened....

I kept hearing knocking and stuff at the kitchen window. I closed it, and went back in here to puter. When I went to bed I kept hearing it too, so I closed the bathroom window as well since they're on the same side of the house.

Just as I was falling asleep I get woken up by really loud cats fighting at roughly 2am. I call to Friday thinking that since I haven't heard fighting before it must be either a fox or a new cat in the hood (Friday). The fighting stops and I start falling back asleep when suddenly there are cats fighting just outside the bathroom window.

I get up and dressed, go outside locking the door. For some reason, last night, the whole place felt really eerie. It just didn't feel right. The air was different and it was darker than normal...so I'm calling for Friday cause I'm too scared to go down the alley like path behind the units I live in.

I walk out onto the street, wander around, and then I hear bells next door (another block of units). I walk to their driveway and call a few times. The neighbour from the opposite side's grey and white cat runs out and I hear what sounds like whimpering. I couldn't leave a hurt/scared animal like that...so I start walking down their driveway

So I only went as far as the second doorway calling because of how dark and scary it was, and that's when I realised the whimpering was not from an animal...it was coming from inside a house. and it wasn't whimpering. It sounded like someone was being assaulted in some way against their will. It could have been anything. It was horrible to hear so I walked back out onto the street, to the other corner so no one would hear, and called the police.

I went inside and cause I was so wired up I started doing the dishes to calm down. I could hear talking outside and I thought someone passed by my window a little after it stopped.....so I closed the blinds I made over the venetians cause it freaked me out...

Then as I get to the last two dishes the fuse box in the bedroom trips. My phone is in the bedroom. I had to walk from the sink to the bedroom, and then I was convinced someone was in the house cause the fan was moved (I moved it though, I remembered once the light was on). To make matters worse my phone is nothing but a black screen, so I can't see, light anything up, or call for help, and I am trembling so badly I probably couldn't even if it was working correctly. I was never more ready to scream my fucking head off than in that moment.

I run back to the kitchen and light two candles, bringing one into the bedroom. I flip the fuse back on, and then I am so shaken up and freaked out that I call mum straight away. She doesn't answer so I call dad, who answers straight away (at 4am). I tell them what's up and they both said they would have called them too. It took dad until 5am (45 mins after power out) to get me to feel a little less freaked out and like I could sleep.

But I didn't sleep at all. I thought I did for a little bit between 6 and 8 but to be honest I was super unsettled and not able to really sleep. So I woke up this morning feeling super sick again, super tired, and wishing I had a big dog.

Haha poor you! I hate not getting a good nights sleep throws me off for at least two days.

But trust me I have a big dog and she probably would have been more unsettled than me in that situation so I don't think a dog is the solution to your problem.

About Bunny
Jade Elizabeth is an eccentric young woman who enjoys writing stories and poems with hidden deeper meanings. She is quoted saying “Writing to me is not a hobby. It's a passion. It's something that lets my thoughts expose themselves, and my heart shine through where other art could not.

Commonly her poems are inspired by love or depression, and are dedicated to the people who encouraged the emotion. Given the chance she will readily pull her poems apart, exposing the deeper and hidden meanings behind her words.

Her stories are usually unspoken messages to those close to her – giving every story a hidden meaning. Some things are better left unsaid, or in her case, expressed indirectly through stories.

Jade used to write Documentation for Simple Machines in her free time, but has since begun studying and working, which takes up most of her free time now.
