Well life has just been one bundle of hits in the last few months. The latest? A really bad cold, a bout of deep depression, and then hurting my back pretty seriously. *rolls eyes* I've been getting back on my feet slowly from the bad back, but now my asthma is acting up. So I've been coughing and wheezing a lot and getting onto a really weird sleep schedule.

On the plus side I've had some fun reading in the last few days while I battle it all out! Reading a book now called "The Devil in Green" right now and just loving it! It's a post-apocalyptic battle between the new destructive creatures roaming the world, the Church struggling to survive, and the resurgence of the power of the Craft (and by that I mean Celtic traditions, Wiccan, and all that). It's beautifully written. And dark! I picked it up off the "new" shelf at my library and apparently this is the first book in a trilogy, but he has a trilogy that predates the events of this book, so I'm going to have to pick those up!

In strange contrast I just got done reading "Chocolat" by Joanne Harris. Completely different material. LOL

And yes, I said library. Unfortunately there's no way I can even remotely afford to pay for the books that fuel my reading addiction. If I could I'd probably when "customer of the year" awards at book stores though. And it would be amusing to see how packed I could get this tiny apartment with books and my crafts...

Gaah. It really sucks when illness seems to just smack you in the face time and time again. It annoys the shit out of me.

I think you should continue to borrow from the library LOL. Does your library have a good sized borrowing limit? My mum was able to get hers lifted to 6 books instead of 3 because they disappeared so fast lol. My library here has a 25 book limit. 25 book!!! LOL

Mine HAS no limit! And no overdue fees :D

I'm guessing this slew of responses on threads means someone has her laptop back? How are you?

I want no overdue fees!! I'm notorious for them. I might as well buy the books LOL.

No I don't, just had some puter access :D.

They called me and said they couldnt find the problem. They've run hard disk and memory tests.
I pointed out the problem was the graphics card.

Seriously if they were doctors we'd all be dead. We'd come in for a broken arm and get tests for colon cancer and leave as "cured" without the actual problem being looked at.

Not to mention they didnt even look at the logs. I mean, computers keep logs so technicians and operators can see when problems occur and why FFS. They're the worst computer people I've ever dealt with.

The funny part is that I'm watching John Doe on Hulu (old show, only one season, but I'm enjoying it!) and a gals computer crashed on the show right as I was reading this! LOL

Scary thing is that there are doctors like that! One of my best friend's Dad has a rare bone disease, he's a vet and he recently had to change from seeing a main stream doc to a doc at the VA hospital because of some insurance changes. The new lady wrote in his chart that he has "this absurd idea that he is suffering from a rare bone disease." Yeah. Right. He had JUST had a bone scan that week saying that his bones are absurdly thin, he really shouldn't be able to walk! And he was diagnosed by John Hopkins himself originally, over 20 years ago. Why on earth is she the first doctor in all this time to say that such a famous doctor is wrong? Especially with giving NO explanation for why he has bones like a bird... Yah, can you say, time for a new doctor?!!

That's really sickening. When I went to my doctor last week and asked to be tested for Lupus he told me it was very rare but he would test me so I didnt worry. That's how doctors SHOULD be. He also offered to test me for 2 other rare things I was paranoid about lol. If doctors are unwilling to listen, the very least they can do is humour you with tests.

Not yet. I don't think it's on the results to be honest....I think it's separate.

I also read alot and I know what you mean about not being able to afford books... THe last book series I finished was Laurell K. Hamilton's books featuring Anita Blake the vampire hunter. She has two boyfriends who are ware-animals and it's an amazing story about the city's vampire master who is also another of her boyfriends so she is basically his servant. It's an amazing series and I highly recommend it. I'm sorry about your back/allergies and hope you feel better! good luck. xx
