I love my family and all my relatives. They are fun to be around, and we get to talk about random things when we get together. However, I absolutely hate reunions especially when they happen once every few months. I mean, I don't see the point why we have to say hello to one another every now and then when they are distant cousins.

Another annoying thing about reunions is when the older relatives are being too privy of your personal life. The first thing my aunts and uncles ask me all the time is if I have a boyfriend. Because I do not want to be disrespectful, I have to stay with them until they are satisfied.

Do you go to reunions?

Not sure what's so bad about that question lol. Everyone wants to know because they want you to be happy.

I LOVE reunions! We have one for the extended family every year, and the not so extended family meets up every holiday (christmas, easter, mothers day, fathers day).

I guess there is really nothing wrong with it. I just don't take it positively because I get asked this every reunion. It's like another tradition!  :P

Well I wouldn't take it so harsh, they're just interested in your life and when you tell them your stories they get really excited :D.

Especially about young love ;). Haven't you heard old people talk about how they want to be young and in love again? They equate that to happiness ha ha.

Hahaha. Looking at it that way, I guess I should be more understanding. :P

Our reunions are every other year.  The first one we went to was a lot of fun because you get to see the other part of the family that we heard about. Don't sweat the small stuff.

When the kids were growing up, we usually had family get-togethers for holidays, like Christmas and Independance Day, and when it was a summer celebration, then we almost always had a picnic as a big part of the family gathering.
We didn't really have any of the large family-reunions where people from all over (that you barely know) show up, but just my husband's  brothers and sister and their families.
I think that the closest we ever had to an actual family reunion was when my brother-in-law was dying with cancer, and everyone wanted to see him one last time, rather than having some kind of a family thing after he had passed away.
There were people that I hadn't seen since they were little kids (had to be introduced to a bunch of them), along with their family whom I had never met before. We had a potluck, and the trailer park where George lived had a covered area for outside picnics; so in spite of it being a sad time, we all enjoyed seeing the whole family together in one place.
Now, I haven't even seen either of my own sons for almost three years, so I would totally love to have a family reunion again.

We've never really had a family reunion with extended family that don't live around here.  Christmas has always been a big holiday for us and I always loved seeing everyone together and having a great time.  Now I can't go anymore because I moved away.  I would definitely love to have some kind of family reunion though, but I doubt it will be possible for me to afford for a very long time.
