All day long yesterday I was bombarded with "holiday music". Notice I said holiday music. No Christmas songs at all. No mention of the reason for the season. No mention of Christ our savior. I heard Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, Santa Claus Has Gone Hollywood, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, Jingle Bell Rock, Rocking Around the Christmas Tree...
Heck, I'm progressive enough to allow Jesus Christ to be a superstar, but these days he has been totally eliminated. Christians, we have to fight back. We have to prayerfully request our radio stations play more spiritual music. I want to hear the carols about our savior. At least be fair and let the children hear as much about baby Jesus as they do about Santa Claus. The holiday spirit should be about more than getting a new Itoy.
What is a "holiday" if not a "holy day"?
Baby Jesus has these atheists wrapped around his little finger.
Even when they don't think they're singing about him they're singing about him...
Frosty the Snowman, who "is a fairy tale they say" but "the children know" that "he came to life one day". He was "alive as he could be" (John 10:10), exhorted "catch me if you can" (Isa 55:6) as he brought joy to humankind knowing his time on earth was short. He submitted to the authorities (traffic cop), died, and "will be back again someday", waving "goodbye" (God be with you) and "don't you cry" (Rev 7:17).
