I just found the Karma listing. Neat. I even passed on some positive Karma.
Yeah gotta add, I like it. I had noticed the Karma points before and thought it was just something from admin.

Just kidding, I like that someone is more liked than me it makes me feel that people are linking or not liking my posts based on the content, and not because they feel forced to because I'm an admin .

Alright I've enabled notifications, so let me know if they bother you or not. I wasnt sure if they would encourage it or not. I gotta make the description able to be longer too lol.

I find that I start to "thumbs up" a person's post and then it takes me to the 'reason why' page, and I just back out of it. I know it's silly, but it makes me think twice about why I like their post so much....which is awesome, but then I end up simply responding to it with a full post instead of leaving them the karma for it. Shame on me!

I think the buttons would help. I've been scared to "like" a post because it seems like a bigger deal than a facebook "like" which is just acknowledgment. So I've stayed away, as of now. But I think if I can find a good reason and it's not too overwhelming to leave some karma, I'm going to start.
