I need to know what everyones opinion of this is. I wish to hold a competition soon, with REAL prizes....so I would need a PO box, or post office, or what ever to send the prize to :).

You would only be required to share your address if you won a prize. It wouldnt be saved anywhere, only viewed when sending the prize then destroyed, for security and privacy reasons :).

So I just need to know if this is gonna fly or not, cause I don't want to go buy the prizes I want to give out only to find no one wants to enter LOL.

I would only send the administrator my address if I won and as you said you'd only ask for our address if we did win. That being said I don't see why anyone would want to miss out on a prize =)

Some people are, understandably private and or worried about the internet being full of bad people. I would NEVER misuse personal information like that that's been entrusted to me.

Anyway some people are just uncomfortable with it, understandably!

Well you could always use a PO box! ;)

But it's in the terms of service (section 2); we won't ever give out info to other parties unless there's a court order (and you can bet your ass I will fight that tooth and nail anyway, even if the info is inconsequential...if I can find a loophole I will wiggle out of it).

There will be a new TOS on November 2nd, by the way which is much better written and easier to understand.

So is this something still in the hopper? I know things have changed a bit for you since this was originally posted, but in general, people DO tend to enter contests if there's a prize involved. You'll just want to make sure you really promote it outside of the forums, too, in hopes of bringing in more competition...er, I mean, posters...who might want to stick around after. ;)

Yes definitely. We have a couple of adverts we run when there's a competition on. We'll have to make individual ones for prizes though :D.
