How this will help: It's like flash fiction. It's also personal, and real. This will help you practice writing and may even show you some new ideas for your writing.

A flashbulb memory is a memory that you thought you forgot, but comes back to you in a split second. This could be from word association, a smell, a colour, anything that can be associated with the memory. It's called a flashbulb memory because it's like a mental photograph.

I'm going to start, and say a word, and the next poster has to tell me the FIRST memory that came to their mind. If nothing comes (and it's been more than 3 seconds) you arent allowed to answer. It's not a flashbulb memory if you have to think about it. They will append a word or SHORT phrase to their post and the next poster will respond to it.

Again, let's try and enhance our vocabulary!

My grandmother cooking their legs! I was so appauled by the smell that I called all of my friends and took them to a burger house. I paid for them to eat what ever they wanted and we all came home stuffed and fell asleep on my floor.

I was 13 at the time.

I remember my first time in an American school cafeteria, my face when I saw they were giving out milk was hilarious. I didn't want milk with my lunch ha ha.

It was like the weirdest drink to give out at lunch ever...still is.

Small, almost tiny marshmallows surrounded by a sea of Swiss Miss hot chocolate, once given to me by my dad on a rainy day. The first time I had one, I watched them bob and slowly disappear into the chocolate, before I made the whole thing disappear.

The hot chocolate I had by the fire, centuries ago, with the one I love.

I was a preteen and standing at the cash register of a Walmart. I had just learned about how baby powder had fragrances and the dust could actually be bad for babies. I don't even know why it came up in conversation at the register, but I got scolded by my mom afteward for telling the woman about it because it came off as lecture-y (something to do with her praising it and I tried to correct her, maybe?).

Buying extra cans of paint so I could get the big tin of jelly beans with it!

I actually have some stories about frozen fruit that I posted here, when I learned how to turn it into homemade fruit rollups: http://www.quirkycookery.com/2011/08/how-to-make-your-own-fruit-roll-ups-or.html

I forgot about it and then realized that it was one of those posts where I wasn't sure if I ever wrote it or not, ha.

Well...when I was like 5 I saw two dogs making a litter of puppies and since no one explained it...I thought people got stuck together too. So that made for awkward conversation years later.

One of my fantasies is to have a handsome man feed me peeled grapes.

About Bunny
Jade Elizabeth is an eccentric young woman who enjoys writing stories and poems with hidden deeper meanings. She is quoted saying “Writing to me is not a hobby. It's a passion. It's something that lets my thoughts expose themselves, and my heart shine through where other art could not.

Commonly her poems are inspired by love or depression, and are dedicated to the people who encouraged the emotion. Given the chance she will readily pull her poems apart, exposing the deeper and hidden meanings behind her words.

Her stories are usually unspoken messages to those close to her – giving every story a hidden meaning. Some things are better left unsaid, or in her case, expressed indirectly through stories.

Jade used to write Documentation for Simple Machines in her free time, but has since begun studying and working, which takes up most of her free time now.
