You might be surprised to find, that bar the techy stuff, the world has always and continues to fuel science fiction and fantasy stories. Below I've listed a few examples which link to articles and images I've found all over the place.

Millions of Tiny Spiders Spin Mystery in a British Columbia Clover Field after they got stuck, and either worked together or just cramped themselves into a small area....covering it in thick web. How thick? You can't even see the post through it.

A simple Google search will render thousands of amazing photographs of amazing environments, animals, and even people. All of these can be used to inspire stories and events. If our link doesnt help, try your own searches for articles and images on alien landscapes, weird places, and surreal places. When you find a place be sure to Google again to learn more about the area. None of the above are photoshopped, and the face happens to be a phenomenon on Mars.

10 most alien and weird places on earth shows us some real places on earth which are....a little bit bizarre for what we believe is our reality. The truth is, our planet is harboring multiple extraordinary places like this!

Sometimes fires burn for decades...underground. There are numerous fires in todays world which are smoldering under ground, including Centralia and Burning Mountain. On quick research some of these underground fires have been raging for 2000, and even 6000 years!

There may not be ghosts in ghost towns, but there sure arent any people! Today there are hundreds and thousands of ghost towns. Some of them sport good stories which you can steal, manipulate, and molest to create your own story. Some are mysteries, and some are due to environmental or man caused issues such as nuclear disasters and wars.

Artwork can be a huge inspiration, especially when it's creative. Googling for surreal, futuristic, and even abstract artists can render some pretty awesome results in both images and articles. These can help inspire ideas for creatures, landscapes, and even plot lines.

Dangerous roads can also add a bit more to your stories...or at least give you some pretty cool ideas! These roads are pretty bizarre, and you wouldnt catch me driving on one of them!

Macro photos give us a closer look at the world, and can help us see things from new perspectives! These sorts of shots can help inspire creatures and other ideas, so check them out.

The world is full of unsolved mysteries, and articles about them! A quick google search can get you to some interesting places, and finding out about some of the worlds biggest mysteries.

These are just some examples and starting points. you can find heaps of stuff online, and when you do be sure to show us as well!!

I love using deviant art for inspiration when I don't have any ideas for my current stories - find something inspiring - and write something short about it!

Thanks :) Another fun one to do is go to a site like artfire or etsy and look under art - you can find some cool things and the artists love the free promotion when you post it on your blog :) This works really well when you have a topic, but no picture to go with it, as well. (I think that sentence is turned around lol)

Deviant Art is an awesome idea! There's all kinds of things on there. Pintrest and Stumbleupon too, they would be helpful!

Star Trek predicted laptops and tablets years before anyone developed one.  I thought that was really cool and I love watching TNG and thinking "look at that bulky laptop" when the one on my desk is half or less the size.

About Bunny
Jade Elizabeth is an eccentric young woman who enjoys writing stories and poems with hidden deeper meanings. She is quoted saying “Writing to me is not a hobby. It's a passion. It's something that lets my thoughts expose themselves, and my heart shine through where other art could not.

Commonly her poems are inspired by love or depression, and are dedicated to the people who encouraged the emotion. Given the chance she will readily pull her poems apart, exposing the deeper and hidden meanings behind her words.

Her stories are usually unspoken messages to those close to her – giving every story a hidden meaning. Some things are better left unsaid, or in her case, expressed indirectly through stories.

Jade used to write Documentation for Simple Machines in her free time, but has since begun studying and working, which takes up most of her free time now.
