If you liked The Dresden Files, then you might like the October Daye series by Seanan McGuire!
Her books feel more like mini-series than movie, though.
Lately, I've been reading
The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making by Catherynne Valente, and it's such a classic hero's journey that I want it to happen in the style/cinematography of the
Life of Pi movie. Bailee Madison would make the perfect Marquess (except I don't know how she'd look as a blonde... uh-oh, spoilers? Oh but cast someone else for that, it's fairy glamour anyway) except people grow up so fast that by the time this actually happens, if it ever does, she'll be very post-pubescent. I can't think of anyone who can play September, though.
The first three books about Tiffany Aching would make an amazing movie or mini-series, I think.
I Shall Wear Midnight really felt like a book in a series of books what with the re-appearance of Esk. I can't think of anyone who would be
absolutely perfect for so-or-so part, though.
If they ever make some short indie film out of
The Goldfish Pool and Other Stories by Neil Gaiman, I want Colin O'Donoghue to fake a particular English accent and play Neil Gaiman(? Or "the narrator" if we must.) I can't see him, for some reason, in
The Ocean at the End of the Lane, though--for that one, I think Alan Rickman can play Neil Gaiman(?? Sorry, "the narrator", sheesh...) But who could play young baby Neil Gaiman?
Oh, and I have a copy of the illustrated
Haroun and the Sea of Stories by Salman Rushdie, and would love to see that animated in the same style that it's illustrated!
