I've been hired as a content creator for City Forums, which has been extensively beta tested, and is now ready for full launch. Basically, it's an international lifestyle forum, with boards on living in all the states of America, as well as the other continents.

The general lifestyle section runs from Addiction through to Weddings, with Business, Education and relationships as markers along the way, so there's a lot of interesting stuff for people to comment on and also start new discussions.

There are already some great conversations up there, but the forum owner is keen to attract high calibre new members, and he asked me to spread the word. I know that this forum's members are writers with diverse interests, so I'm sure you'll find something there to interest you - maybe some of you even joined during the beta testing phase.

As an incentive to encourage quality contributors to stay with the forum, City Forum has launched the Ambassador Programme, whereby members who contribute 60 posts in a calendar month will be paid $10 at the beginning of the following month. The posts should be a mixture of responses and new threads, and of course if you enjoy participating in the forum, you're welcome to make as many posts as you wish.

Sign up, and make 10 trial posts so that your responses can be evaluated. That should be no problem at all for the enthusiastic writers here, and it's another opportunity to earn a little cash doing what we love to do anyway. Maybe I'll see some of you over there - I certainly hope so, as we can get some great conversations going. Find out more here:

Sandra, I see they stopped the Ambassador Program already.

Not a good sign, Rather, it's a sign of changing direction, which might be good or bad.

I get a sense of their wanting to be the closest competitor to City-Data.com, because the owner is talking about placing more emphasis on the cities and countries section, much like C-D does. I wish him luck, both because C-D is such a monster and because their internal structure, the relationships and cliques that are present, make it difficult to kick back and do a decent job. The realtors (who are also advertisers and thus Gods) eliminate any negative comments about their respective communities, so the whole place has taken on a Disney-esque sort of fantasy glow, where ever the worst crack-riddled neighborhood in the South Bronx is presented as Nirvana.

I wish you folks good luck.

I've made a bit of money here and there writing for geographic blogs...or websites. If you can string some blogs together, it's a bit of "stepping out money" as my grandmother would say.

Is the opportunity to earn still there? I would definitely be interested in anything where I can get paid to post on forums, but so far only one avenue for that kind of work has turned up.

This sounds like it could have some promise. How long have they been in business? I would like to hear from someone who has been paid on the site to make sure they are good with payments first.
