Has anyone here participated in the 3-Day Novel Contest? It's held every year over Labour Day (coming up soon).
Basically, the challenge is to write a (short) first draft of a novel in only 3 days. Now that's pressure.
I've participated for 4 years. The three most successful times were the times I paid the entry fee and submitted my manuscript. The year I decided to challenge myself and save the 50 bucks, I gave up after 12 hours.
If you're stuck or wanting to get a big chunk of a new project started, I would totally recommend the contest.

Wow, 3 days, that's pretty hardcore. I can't even survive NaNoWriMo.

It is hardcore but it's great too. My problem with NaNoWriMo is that I usually can't commit to a month. Especially a month in November with school goings on.
But 3 days before school starts! That's doable.
Maybe I should have qualified what a 3-Day novel looks like: it's around 15 to 20000 words. So it's really more like a novella. But it forces you to get words on the page.
