I just received my first acceptance to be featured on an authors website tomorrow (Saturday 11/09/13). I'm not sure what time it will be going online, but I'm pretty excited about it. It's not a paid job, but there's a chance it could lead to something bigger due to the exposure.

I don't believe I'm allowed to post a link to the website here and there is some salty language peppered in the article so I'm also not sure if I can even copy and paste it here either. I'm a big, jumbled mess of indecision and uncertainty!

If anyone would like to read it, I think it's alright if you direct message me to get the web addy. And, for your peace of mind, this is NOT a ploy to get you to click a link that will infect your computer or bring you to a "work from home" opportunity. It's also not my website. I'm just trying to get the word out because this is the first time this many people will be reading something that came from my mind.

What's the most exposure your writing has received?

Thank you! I wasn't sure if that was allowed or not. The article just went live at http://www.lancemanion.com/guest-post-david-royce/

It's not for everyone, but it's what I do lol.  :D

So, long time on, how did having your article published make your life or work any different? :D

Thanks for asking! I didn't become an overnight sensation or the next Stephen King lol. But I received some positive feedback from a few people that read it. I think the main thing I gained from it is confidence. Anyone that has read my blogs knows I'm insecure, self depreciating, and of course, a bit of a sarcastic ass hat at times.

This let me know it's alright to write for myself and let other people read it and judge it. While I may come across in my writing as a hard, "devil may care and I don't concern myself with what you think" kind of dude, the fact is I'm the exact opposite. So when I saw that more people "got" it and were pleased than those who took it as me making fun of others, it felt good!

Well that's excellent! I'm a bit like that, I'm a big pussy cat but I write like I'm a lion and might kill you if you disagree sometimes. I think it's because I lack patience ha ha.

I'm really super happy for you, that's why I checked up on how things had been! Have you written anything else you've thought of publishing? :D

Don't forget to update your profile to published ;) :D

Writing has always been the only way I can express my thoughts without feeling out of place. I'm a socially retarded person. My avoidance of groups of people in real life is almost phobic. However, behind my keyboard I can be whatever I want through my words.

I LOVE WRITERS. Seriously. Reading and writing go hand in hand for me, and without getting lost in the worlds others have created I just may go insane! That's why sites like this are important. Even though my writing tends to be on the darker, sarcastic side of things, I really enjoy reading the most mundane stuff out there. I like hearing about how someones day was. I like reading about a random thought they had that, maybe, nobody else cares about. And I'm REALLY glad to know there are others like that here. "Nerds of the world unite" and all that lol

I'm working on a book I intend to self publish by the end of summer. I've been told the average self published author on Amazon makes $500 a year. Which equals what Clive Barker makes for, like, three words! But hey, that would buy a lot of pizza so I'd be happy with it.

The real question is WHY did you start this site? I mean I'm glad you did and all, but it seems like a big hassle that would take up most of your time you know? I'm still glad you did though. :)
