Okay, here's the NEW second scene. Haha. Enjoy!

INT. INTERROGATION ROOM

A young man, SOREN GREY, 19, sits at an old wooden table in a small brick room. Across from him sits FBI agent VERA PHILLIPS. Her small glasses are the perfect accessory for her thin, attractive face and big brown eyes.

Another FBI agent, MILES GRANT, sets up a video camera at the end of the table, pointing it towards the disturbed young man. He's older, early 50s, but incredibly handsome. He and his partner make the perfect team.

VERA looks at a few notes before peering above her glasses at SOREN, who has his head hanging low.

VERA
Soren. I can't imagine how difficult this is for you.

She grabs his attention, and they make eye contact. Soren's eyes are heavy. Countless sleepless nights have left deep bags under his eyes, and his face is pale.

VERA
The only way we can help you is if you talk to us. Can you do that for me?

SOREN nods his head slowly, and VERA looks at her partner and he presses record. Progress is being made.

VERA
Before we talk about... what happened, can you tell us how you became the way you are? Was there some sort of accident?

SOREN looks almost offended.

SOREN
Nothing made me this way. I was born with it.

VERA
Can you explain it to me?

SOREN
It's not really that complicated. I can... do things with metal. Move it. Manipulate it. Any way I want.

VERA
And how would you say you "manipulate" these metal objects?

SOREN glares at VERA non-threateningly.

SOREN
With my mind.

VERA takes a deep breathe and allows the goosebumps to fade away on her neck. She changes the subject.

VERA
Have you ever had any enemies? Anyone from school, or anyone else in town you may have played some sort of prank on? Anything like that?

Soren shakes his head.

SOREN
You think because I have powers I'm going out messing with people?

VERA
I'm just trying to get the details.

SOREN
Well I've never done anything like that. Ever since I was little my parents told me I was special and that I needed to be responsible. I grew up fast. They wouldn't let me use my powers in public... hell, they barely let me use them at home. Only to maybe set the table or turn off a light or something.

VERA
So if you've never...
(she pauses)
...practiced your gift, how did you get so good at it?

SOREN
What makes you think I'm good at it?

VERA
I've seen what was left of Center St., Soren. Someone who's only moved around forks and knives couldn't have done that kind of damage.

SOREN
(sighing)
I used to go to the junk yard. All of the scrap metal and old cars were perfect practice. It was like going to the gym.

VERA
How often did you visit the junk yard?

SOREN
At first it was just on the weekends. I was off school and didn't have any friends at the time, so I would spend all my time throwing rusty cars around. Then when I got kicked out, I was there almost every day.

VERA
Have you ever been caught using your powers?

SOREN thinks for a second and shakes his head.

VERA
Not even by your parents?

SOREN
Well, once when I was little.

VERA
What were you doing when they caught you?

SOREN
Uh, we were at the grocery store. My dad got done putting the groceries in the trunk and I volunteered to return the cart. I did it from the back seat.

VERA
They punished you?

SOREN
I lost all my metal and I was grounded for a year. I thought I'd never leave my room.

VERA
What do you mean by "you lost all your metal"?

SOREN
That was my punishment. They took anything that had any kind of metal out and replaced it with wood or plastic.

VERA
To prevent you from using your powers?

SOREN
Yeah.
(He looks around)
Sort of like you guys did.

VERA ignores what he said and jots a few notes down before returning to the conversation.

VERA
Soren, this is my partner, Agent Grant. He's going to ask you a few questions about what happened on that night, is that okay?

SOREN nods his head in agreement, shifting his weight on the unconmfortable wooden chair.

AGENT MILES GRANT takes his partners seat and assess SOREN.

MILES
Soren, can you tell me, from start to finish, the events of March 6th?

SOREN
I mean, it all happened kind of fast. I don't remember everything.

MILES
Try for me.

I think you have a great story brewing here.  Hopefully, there is a break out of jail scene; I would like to see this kid out on the street.  I also enjoyed the detail of the setting and the character internalizations, when watching a movie or play the viewer isn't privy to that information and it has to be perceived.  Sometimes what reads well on paper doesn't translate.  Of course that's where actors come in.  I definitely think that you are onto something here conceptually.  Is this related to the X-men?  Like an excerpt from the deranged childhood of Magneto.  If it is or if you could give it that twist you would have an instant fan base, unless that crosses some type of boundary involving copyright infringement.  I'm interested in reading more and I guess that is the most important thing to cultivate, reader interest.

See, the copyright thing worries me about this one, because "Metalbenders" are characters from Avatar (the Last Airbender-- not the blue people), so are there any other suggestions for a name?? Like I like "metal bender" because when he was born he literally bent the metal in the room, but idk haha

About Plastic
Hello! My name is Nic, and I write words and things that rhyme sometimes... just like that! :3

I'm inspired by basically anything and everything. Legends, folklore, and mythology, personal experiences, and things-that-could-be-a-children's-poem-turned-macabre are a few of things I like to write about the most.
On the other side of my writing spectrum, is my love of movies. I wish to be a screenwriter some day, so... movies are pretty important to me.

I have an extremely healthy obsession with the four elements (Earth, Air, Water, and Fire), and Tegan and Sara.
Thank you for reading my words, it really means the world!
