Lately I have been doing some deep searching for REALLY strange and obscure news. The sort of weird and strange kind of news that will NEVER, EVER make the mainstream news because it's just to freaky and weird. Sightings, pics, stories of just really weird stuff that sounds completely insane and unbelievable, but something about that story has that weird ring of truth to it.

The reason I have started doing this hunt is because I am so fed up and tired of all the usual crap they have as news. Homogenized lies and bullshit. I guess I want to get out there and find some REAL news...the sort of shit that makes you WTF? and makes you wonder just what is real.

Truth is stranger than fiction boys and girls. So, if you find anything, post a link or pic right here! I started the hunt a few days ago and so far I haven't found anything that really jumps out at me, but give it time...I will.  ;)

Hoodoo, I love finding that kind of news, too ! !  There is actually a lot of stuff floating around if you do some searching.
One of my most favorite websites is called AboveTopSecret (www.abovetopsecret.com) and you never know what you will find on there. I have an account there, but I only just go to read stuff. It is great when something is going down, like the Boston bombing. People were listening to their scanners, and reporting live, and also what they heard over their radio and television stations. The coverage was about as fast as people could type !
Another great place is called Before Its News. They have different people writing articles and adding videos, about just anything. Some of it is beyond far out, and some is great information. It is good just to look through and read what interests you.
I also read news on a website called What Does it Mean. (www.whatdoesitmean.com). It comes from Russia, or somewhere, and is a very different view of what is going on in the world today.

Those are some of my favorite sites, and I think you will find some interesting, and yes, weird stuff, on any or all of them, Hoodoo.

THANK YOU! These look GREAT!

I have to ask, do you listen to Coast to Coast AM? I just LOVE that radio show and I have a membership with them and download shows all the time. They have a lot of really strange and obscure news that just never gets out to the public via mainstream news sources. They talk a lot about cryptid sightings, weekly updates on UFO sightings, lots of paranormal stuff...but they also talk about a lot of the sort of stuff going on in the world like the Fukishima nuclear power plant melt down in Japan and just how really bad that is. Stuff that just never makes it into the mainstream news media.

If you have never listened to Coast to Coast Am then I HIGHLY recommend it.

Coast to Coast is a great program, and i have listened to that program for many years, back too when Art Bell himself used to run the show. After he left, and George Noory took over, the show was still preetty good, but then it seemed like they went off into the Shadow People, and more stuff like that, and I sort of lost interest.
After we moved out here, the show came on much later at night than it used to when I lived in Idaho, so we stopped listening to it as often, although I still do when we are up late for some reason.
I also like John B. Wells, who was a host on Coast to Coast, but now has his own program called Caravan to Midnight, which is online only, and not on the radio.

Were you listening back when Art Bell had the program and they talked about Mel's Hole out in Washington State,  near Ellensburg ??
I was fascinated when they had that guy on the program and he would tell us about the latest episode of what had happened to him out there. Eventually, Mel just disappeared, and I don't know if he ever was back again or not. If he was, i never heard about it.

I love Coast to Coast...although I didn't get to listen to it back when Art Bell ran the show. Art was running it when I was a kid and staying up that late definitely got a big fat NO from my mother. LOL

I started listening to it, again, after I got my hearing aids...about 3 years ago. I'd listened to it every chance I got for years before my hearing went..but for about 3 years I didn't hear anything so listening to the show wasn't an option. I don't hear well even with the hearing aids...but I download the shows and listen to them by cranking the hearing aids and playing them on VLC media player...it lets me really crank the volume so I can hear the shows.

I like the weird stuff George Noory has on the shows. That's the sort of stuff that interests me because I have had to deal with the world of the weird pretty much all my life. It was on Coast to Coast that I first heard about the BEK's/BEP's (Black-eyed kids/people).

I also like the fact that you can hear about news that NEVER makes it into the mainstream news headlines.
