Is it not frustrating to have children that do not listen to the rules of your own home. You say no food in the rooms and they walk past you with food into the room and expect you to clean up after them. Disgusting to think that these kids are being raised with no respect but they will be quick to ask you for something when they need it!!

I HATE THAT!!! Are they your kids? Or step kids....might be time to get the other side to step up.

I basically raised both my little brother and sister and I know the frustration of disrespect, sure they can be angels sometimes but its like they dont care until they need something

They are my kids but dad always gives in and this is never good! It is even at the stage where I am being spoken to like crap in my own home. Shocking and this happens every now and again with damaging effects to us all.

They don't understand what you put in and go through only for them but one day they will.
you probably need to talk to dad and the kids, letting them know they are your world and you do what you think is best for them, you dont want them to get hurt, you want them to succeed in life and sometimes they won't understand why your doing what your doing but they should know you have them in your heart.

Try not to worry too much, kids will be kids.

Yeah their dad needs to stand with you, not undermine you!! You're supposed to be a united front here!! LOL

True we are supposed to be working together as a unit and it certainly isn't working that way now. The kids get confused and it turns them into brats because we are the ones at fault.

So true! It is very frustrating when kids do not listen...period! Whether it's obeying rules, acting on instructions, or responding in conversation. I have that problem with my nephew. He's a bright 10 year old but boy does he have issues listening. You'll tell him don't walk out the door. He hears you and he watched you say it but he continues to walk out the door. I have repeatedly told him, he can not allow people to repeat themselves more than once.

Oh, I know what you mean! My son is 8 years old, he Autistic, ADHD, ODD (Oppositional Defiance Disorder), has anxiety, a Sensory Processing Disorder, and an Audio Processing Disorder.  I know it's not all his fault, but it is very, very frustrating. With his Audio Processing Disorder, I have to think of words that don't have the sounds he can't hear, i.e "s", "sh", and "c" (when it has the "s" sound).  It is do hard. I am divorced, but I have a boyfriend, but hr doesn't live with us. My son listens to him super well, and respects him, and respects me better when my boyfriend's over. I guess it's a man figure, a good man to look up to in his life that helps.

I would go as far as to say that your boyfriend is a keeper :)
