I didn't think my first post on this site would be about something like this versus something creative, but one of my pet peeves got activated this morning!

Mention a pet peeve and let's bond through our mutual annoyances.

This morning I was driving my son to football practice, waiting for the traffic light to turn so I could proceed.  The cross-lane of the intersection I was going to pass through was about to get a red light.  What is supposed to happen is that people refrain from blocking the cross-street as they stop for their red light up ahead, so that people like me can make their turn or pass through.  Well, the BLOCK INTERSECTION peeve said hello to me once again.  I couldn't pass through due to two cars that decided to force their hand and stuck out into the lane too much.  Contrast that with my good-boy approach to driving where I help people get into my lane, like from a ramp entering the expressway, or when they want to get in while pulling out of a store, and no one will let them.

Self-centeredness is the root of all evil.  Your turn.

I would have driven in front of them and waited. But I am impatient and bitchy like that XD.

Assuming it was safe to do so of course!!

I hate it when cashiers treat my fruit and veggies like freaking bouncy balls. I told her to be gentle and that helped not at all :'(.

Hi Bunny,

I'm glad you brought up cashiers because there is another pet peeve of mine to be found there!  :O

I can't stand it when they don't say a thing and I am the one who has to say hello.  In particular, I can't stand it when they don't greet at all but yet yell crap to their fellow cashier, socializing with them instead of ever acknowledging my presence.  I don't want to be treated special, I just think I should get some sort of hello.

I have posted 3 poems, and topics not related to my poetry. I've replied to a few posts. But I'd say one of my pet peeves would be chewing in my ear. Drives me bananas. And my son does it the most. I play games on my phone, or go onto Facebook and my phone is like a beacon. And more often than not, he'll have food, chips, an apple, carrots, something hard and crunchy. My son is just an eater, and almost always it's healthy. But when he's had a good week, I'll let him have a treat. And any snack migrates to me and my phone to chew in my ear. Haha.

Since cashiers are a topic for pet peeves, I have something I would like to add to that. I personally don't want to be talked to a lot when I am standing in a grocery line up when I feel lousy and its obvious. I hate it when the cashier asks me how I'm doing.  And when i say fine just to end the conversation, they continue on by asking if I have a cold or something.  Maybe I don't.  Maybe I have allergies, maybe I've been crying because my cat died.  There are lots of reasons why a person shows up at your til with a runny nose and swollen eyes.  Right there  is an indicator that they are having a lousy day for whatever reason and should be allowed the peace and quiet of getting their groceries without an interrogation. Then when you ask them for a tissue so you can wipe away the liquid leaking from your nose and eyes, they don't have one.  Now that they have called attention to you, you can't do anything about it.  Great.  That is my pet peeve for the day.  Sorry to all the cashiers out there who do have tissue and who don't interrogate their customers.  I know that there are a lot of you too.

One of my pet peeves is people talking during a movie at the theater. Or making lots of noise with their popcorn and things. But I hate much more intensely people who eat smelly things during the movie. It's like, I want to kill them. I can't avoid it.

I'm pretty easy-going, but if someone talks to me with my headphones in or takes them out of my ears to talk to me... they better watch out.
