If you are like me you do a lot of shopping online and when it comes to clothes it can get tricky to find stuff that fits well something I have learnt is that if the item you ant to buy is being modeled on a black mannequin then the fit will not be how it seems. These mannequins often have odd proportions to make the clothes appear as if they are shaped when they are not.

Personally I never buy clothes online because the last time I bought I coat from an online store, after wearing it only once, some of the seams burst opem. A day or two later once that issue had been fixed, the buttons dropped off.

This might have been something that happened by 'ill-chance' but why take the risk when you can walk into a local store and get your clothes and never have to worry that they'll have any issues because you'll look them over thoroughly before handing over your money?

Yeah I'm too scared to buy clothes online really, because I can't try them on first. Something might look alright but feel terrible, even if it does fit.

When buying clothing online it can be hit or miss. There are a few things you can do to make these transactions go smoothly. First look into the return policy of the online seller. Do they accept returns, who pays the cost of return shipping , do they issue refunds or just merchandise credits? Once you have answered these questions you can better gauge the places where you wish to shop. Next look for a size chart with measurements. If you know a garment fits a chest, waist and hip measurement of a certain amount of centimeter , you can estimate how it will fit you. Forget what the clothing looks like on the model, know you body type so you can imagine how the garment will look on you. Finally read the description so that you know what you are getting. There is nothing worst that buying what you think is a silk blouse only to find out when it arrives you have purchased over priced polyester.

I've had no problems when ordering from companies that I've bought from before in person. As long as you know how they size their items and whatnot then you should be all good.

I honestly never ever EVER buy my clothes online unless I know the exact brand, size, style, type, etc etc. There are so many stores that I shop at, and unfortunately at each store the sizes are different on me. This kinda sorta forces me to have to go into the store and at least try it on.

I do like how convenient it is to buy things online though. I mean I'm definitely not opposed to it, that's for sure, but I refuse to buy something (especially clothing related) online unless I've seen it or try it for myself.

I do not buy clothes online as much as possible. I only buy them when the size says "One size fits all".

I buy online from companies I already know and how the sizes fit. I will buy online if I know I get free returns and it's a good buy, but they tend to be casual clothes like t-shirts or yoga pants that I know will fit.
Online prices can be cheaper and usually they carry more sizes and colors than stores, so there are more options and is more convenient.

I used to work as a fashion stylist and it is correct, clothes are pinned and altered on for the photo shoots and often do not fit the model perfectly. Don't forget photoshopping and airbrushing as well!

I buy online pretty frequently because there's not as many options for plus size in my local stores. However, what I typically do is buy one item (after thoroughly checking return policies) to see how the fit is before doing a full order. I also research the company online to see if anyone talks about their sizing- there are often fashion forums where people will say that X store sizes run small, or large, and you can order according to that. One thing I've noticed that many companies are doing is putting the stats of their model next to the item description, so you know what size they're wearing and how tall they are, and order the appropriate size based on that.
