I wonder how racist they really were, though? Like, "Don't speak to strangers, especially if they're dark skinned" like not even thinking about it? Or, "What, you mean our daughter's bone marrow came from THAT guy? Undo it! Undo it, she's dirty now! She's got dark person cooties!"

It doesn't matter, of course. Prejudice is prejudice and very very very silly, and it can be annoying and/or dangerous and/or devastating while still being the same silly idea it was from the start.
