We have an entire array of badges that you can request from your profiles (Your Account > Group Membership) and we are always adding more to them! You can have ONE badge only, so choose the one that best defines you and your passion!

Currently you can choose from any of the following groups...

Special bunnies (Special Requirements To Be Accepted*)

Bunnies who help creative people (Special Requirements*)

Working bunnies (Special Requirements*)

Bunnies who write from their imagination

Bunnies who write about facts

Bunnies who create art with their minds

Bunnies who create art with their bodies

Bunnies who are more than just one thing

Other Bunnies

Head over to your profile for a description of each group and the ability to apply for ONE ONLY! Hover over "Your Account" from the menu and click on "Group Membership" :).

*Special requirements for agent, editor, publisher, professor, teacher, employer, and recruiter are that you have to be a fully qualified person in this field. You actually have to be a teacher, own a company that pays people, work for a company that recruits talented people, or be a qualified teacher/professor. These are to represent your full time jobs/career paths. If you own/work at a company that has asked you to employ/recruit contractors/freelancers/new people then you may be an employer or recruiter. If you are a qualified teacher/instructor and running actual classes you may be a teacher. If you are working in a university you may be a professor. If you are representing a publishing house you may be able to use the publisher badge. If you are a full time (or part time) qualified editor or agent you may be able to use the editor/agent badges.

*Special requirement for freelancer is that you have to be actively freelancing. It needs to be something you do every week or at least a fair amount. Freelancing isn't a hobby when it comes to this badge so if you do it as a hobby or when you need extra dough you are not the soft of freelancer we want to badge at this time (later we hope employers will target active freelancers, so having lots of hobby freelancers will be rather frustrating for them).

*Special requirement for web developer is that you actually have to know how to build a website, plugin, and/or other code things by yourself from scratch. If you use a website or program that builds it for you may not be a web developer by definition of this badge. Ask yourself this: Can I build a website/plugin in notepad using only google every now and then for things I've forgotten? Can I build a website that uses a database? Is the thought of using notepad to build even one page extremely painful to me? If you answered yes to any of those, especially the last one, you are a web developer.

*Special requirements for bunny buddy and helping hand: these groups are extremely special. Helping hands are people who help writers and other creative people and have their blogs posted here automatically - to help more. Bunny buddies are affiliates who are joining us or have joined us for joint community competitions, ad swaps, and more. These badges are given to members because they are part of special programs; they cannot be applied for.

2009 Moderator Guidelines - Notifying Members
Quote
Members need to be notified of some moderative actions. This is how we show the community we respect them, and their contributions to our forum.

Edited Posts
Flags are used to notify members of posts edited from their original versions:
  • The flag should be three lines from the end of the text of the original post (press enter three times from the last character of the post)
  • If text/images are removed, flags must go in their original position (replace them)
  • Flags must use the default text colour and size (no special BBC)
  • The flag for ALL edited posts is: [USERNAME; REASON]
  • The flag for ALL removed images or text is: [REMOVED: item]

Split Topics
Title flags and posts are used to notify members a topic has been split:
  • The flag should be inserted at the beginning of the topic title of the resulting split (not the original topic)
  • The flag for split topics is: [SPLIT]
  • A post should be made in the new topic, stating it was split, and why.

Merged Topics
Posts are used to notify members a topic has been merged:
  • A post should be made in the newly merged topic, stating it was merged, and why.

Moved Topics
Redirect topics are left for members when topics are moved:
  • Upon moving, the “post a redirect topic” checkbox should be checked
    • Unless moved to The Mature Access Center, or other Staff area (including the donators and friends sections)
      • Moderators should be alerted in this case
  • Reason for moving may be included (optional)

Locked Topics
Posts are used to notify members a topic has been locked:
  • A post should be made in the locked topic, stating it was locked, and why.

Unapproved Posts
Personal messages are used to notify members of posts which are unapproved:
  • Link to the post must be included
  • Reason for unapproval must be included
  • Member must be given instructions so they can respond to the PM
    • Member can edit their post while it is unapproved
    • Member should reply stating whether they fixed it, or want it to be deleted
    • Member should be linked to our rules

Approved Posts
Personal messages are used to notify members of posts which have been approved. This should only be done if the post was previously unapproved:
  • Thank member for fixing the post
  • Include a link and inform user that it has been reapproved

Member Warned
Personal messages are used to notify members if they have received a warning. This step is optional, and may be postponed:
  • Send PM notification when warning the member (include in moderator alert) or later, after discussing the appropriate course of action with other moderators and staff members
  • Include reason for warning(s)
  • Include link(s) to post(s) if they are available
  • Include warning level outcome (post moderated OR post muted ONLY)

It's so long it requires TWO posts :P

2009 Moderator Guidelines - Alerting Moderators
Quote
Moderators need to be alerted of most moderative actions. This helps keep running records. All incidences require new topics.

Alerting Posts
Alerts should be posted for the following reasons:
  • Suspected illicit behaviour on or towards the forum (hacking, bullying, etc etc)
  • Post unapproval
  • Post editing (requested edits ONLY)
  • Post deletion
  • Member banning
  • Member warnings

THE FOLLOWING MUST BE INCLUDED IN ALL MODERATOR ALERTS
  • ALL communication between the alerter and the member in question. PM’s sent and received, or any communication on our IRC channel (#theac) are required. Any relating emails, or other offsite means of communication such as chat, should also be included.
  • The link to the PROFILE of the user(s) in question
  • Link(s) to the offending posts, or area where the offence took place (say a bad profile, blog, profile or arcade comment, etc)

Below, the areas of the Moderation Lounge are explained thoroughly.

The Moderation Lounge
  • Member issues caused by breaking rules via PM, or other means not related to posting
  • Member banning
  • All moderation issues that do not relate to posts or topics

Post and Topic Issues Area
  • Post was reported
  • Post was unapproved
  • Think post should be unapproved
  • Post was edited for rule breaking, or by request
  • Unapproved advertisements
  • Other unlisted issues that is caused by a post

WHEN POSTING ALERTS USE THE FOLLOWING TEMPLATE

TITLE: [USERNAME: ISSUE] REASON
BODY:
PROFILE LINK
LINK TO POST/TOPIC
PM’S SENT AND RECEIVED
ACTION TAKEN

The title should always contain first the username, then the offending issue or action taken and possibly a reason. The following are examples of issues:
POST/TOPIC
PROFILE/BLOG/ARCADE COMMENT
PERSONAL MESSAGE
PRIVILEGE ABUSE
BEHAVIOUR

Reasons justify the reason for posting the issue, reasons could be something like “using excessive profanity” or “sending abusive emails”

Ex: [Jade: Privilege Abuse] excessive smiting/applauding of users
[Jade: Personal Message] abusive message sent to several members

Body:

Hello Jade,

It has been brought to our attention that you are sending abusive messages to other members of this forum. Such behaviour is against our rules.

We are assigning you a cool-off period, in which you will be unable to use certain privileges (including sending personal messages, using karma, and using the arcade). During this time you have been post moderated, which means a member of staff has to approve your messages before they are seen.

Bugger being a mod. I wanna be a member of the Secret Police.

TECHNICALLY.... being a member of the secret police could be considered a moderator.

I plan to have moderators as leaders of guilds: Each guild to a section (poetry guild, lyrics guild, etc)....and each guild would be used by members to talk about their subject, maybe post poems or what ever to the guild before moving them public - I don't want "guild only" works though. The guilds could have guild only competitions however.

Moderators would have to check and approve works in their sections, and approve members requesting entrance into the group.

Basically... moderators would be guild leaders.

Of course, each lead would have access to a guild leaders section where we would discuss issues and events :D.

If a guild gets too large, another leader can be elected to join the first.

I'd like the 'storyteller' badge if I can please.
Don't feel established enough to request 'novellist' as my first book isn't even finished yet
and though I've produced a few lyrics in years gone by, it isn't something I do too often these days.
As for 'poet' - I wouldn't be pretentious enough to claim that (you'll see why if you ever see my lyrics!)

About Bunny
Jade Elizabeth is an eccentric young woman who enjoys writing stories and poems with hidden deeper meanings. She is quoted saying “Writing to me is not a hobby. It's a passion. It's something that lets my thoughts expose themselves, and my heart shine through where other art could not.

Commonly her poems are inspired by love or depression, and are dedicated to the people who encouraged the emotion. Given the chance she will readily pull her poems apart, exposing the deeper and hidden meanings behind her words.

Her stories are usually unspoken messages to those close to her – giving every story a hidden meaning. Some things are better left unsaid, or in her case, expressed indirectly through stories.

Jade used to write Documentation for Simple Machines in her free time, but has since begun studying and working, which takes up most of her free time now.
