Bunny, crocheting is actually pretty easy to do. There should be some good tutorials on youtube; The basic adea is that you are going to make a chain of loops and then make more loops in those loops. Start with just making a row of chains, and then put your crochet hook in the middle of each chain loop and pull up a loop, then you hook your yarn through the end of your hook and pull it through the loops.
It probably sounds confusing when I am explaining it, but once you start doing it, you will find it is pretty simple. At first, I tried to hold the yarn too tight, and then I couldn't get the hook to fit through the loops, and got really ticked at it ! Once I started making the chains and loops a little looser, then things went smoother.
The first thing I made (slippers, I think) was huge !
I probably ended up pulling it apart and making it again. But it did help me to get the rythym of crocheting. If you start with a scarf, or something that precise size is not necessary, then you can use whatever you make even if it comes out the wrong size.
As you crochet more, you will become more adept at getting the crochet hook through the loops, and your stitches will be tighter.
Use 4-ply yarn to start, not crochet thread, or baby yarn. The loops are too tiny, and you will end up throwing the whole thing in the corner, and saying "Never Again ! "
