To start off with I've basically got the 'motive' pretty much set in stone.
An everyday man that believes everyone has a desire to commit an act of evil that they, ironacally, find the worst (murder, rape, robbery, etc.).
Instead of having one of his own, this guy has a desire to assist people in commiting the crime; justifying the fact that they did it, not him (he was assisting externally).
He believes he is doing a service for the people, he sees society turning into a 'robotic wasteland', with no expression using alternatives such as video games.
He believes that people, to make up for generations of this kind of stress relief, now need to go so far as commiting crimes to 'let off steam'. Although, he see this as a brief sacrifice to be made, that in time the urges people will have won't be as severe.

Ya know that could be an interesting series where he eventually finds out he DOES want something and it's like mindbogglingly horrifying.

I could see it as a TV series. Some guy helping people do shit and trying to figure out what it is he needs to do, maybe trying to do stuff to see if it satisfies himself but it never does, then somehow one day he figures it out...

and it's either something mindbogglingly horrifying or he can't ever fulfill the need.

I've been playing a game called Condemned: Criminal Origins, and that basically inspired me to make a criminal of my own.

Sounds like we're going for a Dexter direction, here.

I've watched a bit of it, it's pretty good. My little brother used to get right into it.

This would make a great movie. It is something I have never thought of.I have heard of assisted suicides, serial killers.and hit men,but I have never thought about someone assisting others in acts of mayhem in a "serial" sort of way.It is like the darker side of the 70's T.V. series "Fantasy island".A good choice for the lead role would be radio and T.V. personality Larry Elder.

Cheers man, I haven't looked at this in quite a while actually. The 70's sounds like a pretty cool time setting actually, maybe 50's even (played the hell out of L.A. Noire)  :)

Cool, he kind of reminds me of Jigsaw a little bit from the Saw series. He too thought he was ultimately doing a good thing and helping people. I never liked the Saw movies though and would say your guy is more interesting.

Also, Condemned: Criminal Origins is an awesome game. I'm too scared to finish it though.

I think having him really enthusiastic to be helping and completely cheerful and friendly would be a good spin. Kind of like:
"Ah....Mr Jones, great to meet you at last. How are you doing? I see you bought the victim along, that you want to dismember. Yes, he looks very panicked and feisty, this will all do very nicely. Did you have any trouble getting here? My directions OK? No undue anxiety about being followed? Don't worry about it, anxiety is to be expected. Well, we have all the tools over there and as much time as you need. Did you want some music? No? OK. Let's get started, shall we?"
