Lucky Stars
by Nic Schell

This box of ashes could destroy you
It could trump you, not ignore you
But if it wasn't ash, I ask you
Would you be afraid?

You should, but since he's gone now
You feel you can now, speak with gripe now
You should count your lucky stars now
That he's dead

Because if he weren't, you'd be
In a box, as ash, you should be
Feeling lucky that I might not be
Just like him

If I was, I wouldn't be so
Very quiet and so calm, so
Keep it up and you won't feel so
Goddamn lucky anymore

I wish his ashes could destroy you
Come back and haunt you, but not before you
Feel the pain, he'd fucking kill you
I hope that's understood

My dad's ashes. I wrote this "to" my "step dad" awhile back when he had the pills to talk trash on him.
We got into an argument once and I told him, "if my dad was alive, you wouldn't be."

Wow, love it Plastic! Not sure how I missed it!

I'm sorry your dad is gone but I am glad he's still with you and you know he'd stand up for you. I hope your step dad steps down the hate a bit and backs off, it's not nice to go through that.

I really like this, specifically that you have put all your emotion into it. Writing without passion, especially poetry can be kind of dead. This also helps you to work through your feelings. Keep on writing!

About Plastic
Hello! My name is Nic, and I write words and things that rhyme sometimes... just like that! :3

I'm inspired by basically anything and everything. Legends, folklore, and mythology, personal experiences, and things-that-could-be-a-children's-poem-turned-macabre are a few of things I like to write about the most.
On the other side of my writing spectrum, is my love of movies. I wish to be a screenwriter some day, so... movies are pretty important to me.

I have an extremely healthy obsession with the four elements (Earth, Air, Water, and Fire), and Tegan and Sara.
Thank you for reading my words, it really means the world!
