As a software developer I can attest to the prevalence of buzzwords in the IT industry. One of my least favorites is The Cloud. What the hell does that mean? Sometimes it refers to virtualization, I guess, and sometimes it refers to shoving desktop apps in the browser (like google docs) and sometimes it refers to online storage (like dropbox). I think at this point cloud is self-referential, i.e. it means precisely that you're not supposed to know or care.

"Where are our files?" "In the cloud." "Okay then."

I am a former software developer also and the buzzword I am hearing a lot is "consume"!  If I had a nickel for every time I've heard that in the past couple of years, I could retire.  I also remember back in the day when "robust features" was said of virtually every new software package that came on the market.  You know, "The new version of Microsoft Office has some amazing, new and robust features"....  Thank goodness the field has moved on to some new buzz words.  :)

I remember the robust feature craze!

Also the web 8.0 thing is a parody I believe, to make fun of the "web 2.0" crap. I still think SEO is made up for the most part and that buzzword is dying down thank god.

"Consume" is pretty silly, I think. When I read about how users "consume" content I just imagine myself eating some video or writing or whatever.

About Bunny
Jade Elizabeth is an eccentric young woman who enjoys writing stories and poems with hidden deeper meanings. She is quoted saying “Writing to me is not a hobby. It's a passion. It's something that lets my thoughts expose themselves, and my heart shine through where other art could not.

Commonly her poems are inspired by love or depression, and are dedicated to the people who encouraged the emotion. Given the chance she will readily pull her poems apart, exposing the deeper and hidden meanings behind her words.

Her stories are usually unspoken messages to those close to her – giving every story a hidden meaning. Some things are better left unsaid, or in her case, expressed indirectly through stories.

Jade used to write Documentation for Simple Machines in her free time, but has since begun studying and working, which takes up most of her free time now.
